25 Years of Farm Fresh Beef

Fostering Trust Between Our Families

B/F Beef is not just our brand, it is who we are and what we do, day in and day out. We are Brett & Libby Foster, and along with our three daughters, the good Lord has blessed us with an opportunity to raise cattle in the Heartland of the greatest country that has ever existed! We are blessed to be able to freely and openly worship our Savior Jesus Christ and work as though working for Him. With God’s natural resources, diligent beef cattle management and intentional stewardship, we are able to work passionately and conscientiously to provide for our family and yours safe and delicious beef.

A good work ethic coupled with good old common cow sense are both needed to be successful to thrive in the cattle business. That’s why we believe in raising and selling beef the way we think is the most responsible way to feed our own children. NO antibiotics. NO added hormones EVER. And No animal by-products in the feed.

We are in this for the long haul and determined to deliver the best from our family to yours!

What We Believe

In 2004, I married my beautiful and uplifting wife, Libby. Since then God has blessed us with three little girls. Audrey, Maggie, and Teddy.

One of my greatest blessings has been my marriage to a very patient woman. For it took me 36 years before I realized the Lord had to be #1 in my life. With my core focus on Him, I have a chance to be the kind of husband and dad that all of my girls deserve.

I do believe that raising cows is my God given talent. It only makes sense that I’d use that talent to do business for the One who gave it. When I honor Him, the Lord helps us to practice strategic and efficient farming methods that make it possible to develop a premium, healthy, delicious product that families deserve to enjoy.

“Whatever you do, work at it wiah all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men…it is the Lord you are serving.”

–Colossians 3:23-24

Responsibly, Sustainably Raised

Responsibly Grass Raised

At B/F Beef each and every cow and calf is born and raised on our farm located in West Central Missouri. Our brood cows in the herd live nearly their entire lives grazing on pasture. As they graze, we study their condition, disposition and efficiency in order to use natural genetic selection (the way God intended it) to produce a leaner, more tender end product.

When we hone in on the specific genetics that are producing the type of cow that is truly more hardy, fertile and feed efficient on pasture, we know we have a truly sustainable product.

Grain Finished for Best Flavor

Strategically Grain Fed

When calves are of age to wean from their mommas, they are introduced to corn and other high quality grains that are higher in nutrients.  This superior nutrition helps promote muscle growth, marbling, tenderness and flavor. Anyone that suggests a cow would rather eat grass than corn has never handled a bucket or bag of grain and watched the stampede straight to the feed bunk. Cattle prefer the sweet corn, yet need grass or hay for a balanced diet. We make sure they get both.

Conscientious to the End Product

In addition to carefully managing their diet, we are committed to caring for our cattle intelligently and compassionately. Animal welfare and humane treatment go hand-in-hand with any cattle operation of our scope and size, or we simply wouldn’t be successful.

Because of our stringent guidelines for our brood cows and our herd sires, we are able to produce animals that can thrive without antibiotics or growth hormones. We have fed thousands of calves through custom feedlots, where they are always at the top for feed efficiency, hot carcass yield, yield grade and marbling. All with less sickness and exceptionally low death loss.
